“His sincerity and kindness gently guided us to shift from the habit mode of life in order to awaken a natural sense of self that knows to observe, witness and be curious. He provided space for us to experiment with how we see, how we communicate with nature and one another.”

“How often do we take our walk in nature only to be zipping through it, listening to a podcast or being immersed in conversation with a friend? All fine and well, but what is it like to pause with nature? What happens when we actually adjust our worldly self to be in the same time zone as nature? This is the work of Robert Bray who facilitated a forest bathing walk in Golden Gate Park.
His sincerity and kindness gently guided us to shift from the habit mode of life in order to awaken a natural sense of self that knows to observe, witness and be curious. He provided space for us to experiment with how we see, how we communicate with nature and one another.
It was a general slowing down so that wonder and awe were welcomed in what might be considered a most mundane moment where we could see blades of grass bending in the wind, the tops of redwood trees bending together when seen from below or noticing shadows on running water for the first time. The experience felt like a ritual which became even more so as we concluded by drinking tea made from the plants and herbs Robert had previously collected in the area we walked! A beautiful spread of fruits, crackers, chocolates and more accompanied the tea which brought the group back together to reflect and simply smile at the beauty that exists when we truly shift gears.”

"Robert brings forth a fine attunement not just to nature but also to the individual. His loving, personalized forest therapy guidance leads even the least seasoned nature seekers into a profound, lasting reverence with the more than human realm.
His passion and love for all things are transparent and infectious. Holding space for him to present his beautiful offerings at Wilbur Hot Springs has been one of my greatest pleasures and is always a highlight for our guests."
