“Forest bathing has profoundly enriched my life, and I am elated to share this transformative experience with others.”
— Robert
The guide
Robert Bray (he/they) is a certified forest bathing guide through the Association of Nature & Forest Therapy (ANFT). He is trained in wilderness first aid and foraging in the wilds of Marin and Sonoma Counties in Northern California.
Robert has a 40-plus year career in social justice activism, philanthropy and communications, with a focus on LGBTQ, racial justice, human rights, AIDS activism and immigration. His passion and sense of purpose translate to a love of nature and a desire to introduce others to its healing benefits. He is an avid hiker, enjoying endless trails and vistas ranging from the High Sierras to the coastal bluffs of Northern California to the desert landscapes of the Sonoran Desert outside Tucson, Arizona, where he is from.

The duration and accommodations
Walks last between 90 minutes and 2.5 hours, depending on the desire of the participants. Walks are customized for the abilities and interests of guests. Every walk is different as Robert adapts to what nature and participants are presenting. During the walk, he offers corresponding “invitations” to slow down, connect with the outdoors, engage the senses and deepen the immersion in nature. Walks end with a lovely tea ceremony prepared by Robert using mostly herbs and plants safely foraged from the local area.
